IP UDP MULTICAST TO 4ch CATV RF QAM ATSC DIGITAL MINI MODULATOR

Thor Broadcast's compact IP to RF Gateway produces up to 4 modulated channels from UDP/RTP Transport Streams. The miniature gateway features a dedicated data port for IP UDP, RTP unicast, or multicast from IP MPEG encoders, along with a second RJ45 port strictly used for NMS monitoring and device management.

It directs the encoded TS streams into 4 agile CATV carriers, serving as a gateway. If the IP streams encoded video/audio is in a specific format such as MPEG2 or H.264, the modulated channels will maintain the same encoding format.

This unit can multiplex multiple IP streams into a single RF carrier as subchannels, provided there is available bandwidth in the RF channel (modulation dependent).

For instance, in QAM 246, J.3B has 38Mbps bandwidth available. This one RF carrier channel can accommodate 12 programs encoded at 4Mbps (38x4=12).

The 4 Ch IPRF also includes VCT - Virtual channel numbers and unique channel names. All these settings are configured via the NMS port in conjunction with creating channels in RF.

All RF standards are preloaded into the modulator, enabling you to select any modulation standard you need, regardless of your location in the world.
